Destigmatizing Mental Health

CREATOR OF BLOG PROGRAM
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATION

NAMI-Eastside is one of 700 affiliates of the national association NAMI. Their purpose is to build better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness, and raise awareness and provide support and education to those in need.

In 2018 I began as a volunteer, and I had the ability to help destigmatize mental health by presenting my own mental health journey to thousands of middle school and high school students within the King County area. After two years, my volunteership ended, but EVY was contracted to help with their social media presence

First-Ever Blog Program

In 2019, while acting as a volunteer, I created NAMI Eastside’s first-ever blog program that implemented dialogue on a new platform. This program is still utilized today by staff and board members.

The blog post Why Men Ignore Their Mental Health Out Of Fear Of Being “Weak” is still one of the most read posts on their blog.
